Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Booqly (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you use the Booqly platform (the “Service”).
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are used to remember preferences, maintain sessions, and provide functionality.
3. Cookies We Use
Booqly uses essential cookies only in the MVP. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.
3.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled:
- Access token — In-memory (JavaScript), used for API authentication, 15-minute duration (not persisted).
- Refresh token — localStorage, used for session persistence across page reloads, 7-day duration.
3.2 localStorage Usage
Booqly also stores the following data in your browser:
- Auth tokens — JWT access and refresh tokens for authentication, until logout or expiration.
- Sidebar state — Remember sidebar expanded/collapsed preference, persistent.
- UI preferences — Locale and display preferences, persistent.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Booqly does not use any third-party cookies, including analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel), advertising (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel), social media tracking, or personalization cookies.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions
To clear all Booqly data, open Developer Tools (F12), go to the Application/Storage tab, and clear localStorage and cookies for the Booqly domain.
Note: Clearing authentication data will log you out of the Service.
6. Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable cookies or clear localStorage:
- You will be logged out and need to re-authenticate
- Your UI preferences (sidebar state) will reset to defaults
- The Service requires localStorage for authentication — disabling it will prevent login
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features. If we introduce non-essential cookies (analytics, etc.), we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms.
